PHASE-BY-PHASE BREAKDOWN

Our multi-phase journey to complete the frontotemporal dementia documentary all begins with crucial work needed in the editing room. This phase is dedicated to creating the initial rough edit of the film, including identification of what content we’ll need to film in Phase 2 in order to complete the project.

It’s a large chunk of editing hours that will likely roll over slightly into Phase 3 as well, when the final editing work is completed.

On-location filming, including new interviews with professionals (doctors, social workers, etc.), and potentially new interviews with more families as well.

Completing post-production, includes the final edit, sound mixing, color correction, etc.

Marketing the film, raising awareness for FTD and dementia in general, etc.

FTD Brothers | Two Brothers, One Quest: 33 Marathons in 33 Days

Who are the FTD Brothers? I’ll confess flat out here: I didn’t expect to be writing about two Irish brothers running 33 marathons in 33 days, across 32 counties in Ireland. But then I learned they both carry a 99.9% chance of developing frontotemporal dementia, which took their mother away from them way too young….

Being There for a Friend with Dementia – BE LIKE FRANK

The team’s been busy here, working on a new two-part resource for families and friends with a loved one living from dementia. As Gabi noted on our call the other day (and I’m paraphrasing), “This one is different… I don’t see anyone else out there talking about it.” That’s saying something considering Gabi helps run…

New Download Added to the FTD Resources Page

As promised, we’re back with a new download in our Frontotemporal Dementia Resources center. A big part of the frontotemporal dementia documentary project here is to keep working to fill in the gaps that families, loved ones, and caregivers tell us are important, and this is the next step down that path. The new resource…

AI Book Scams – Fake Authors Target Dementia Caregivers

We’re peeling back the onion right now on some serious issues with scammers, including AI book scams — people purposely preying on those with dementia to make money (and even worse, to often just flat out steal). Since forming HOPE FOR CHANGE, Gabi Chadwick has not only introduced us to a very serious incident where…

Resources for Frontotemporal Dementia Page Now Active

We are very pleased to announce that our Frontotemporal Dementia Resources page is now active. As I touched on in an earlier post, creating a Resources Center was an extremely important part of this project, providing a place where we can fill in the gaps that families, loved ones, caregivers, and pretty much anyone affected…
