LAND A LARGER IMPACT

CREATING LONG-TERM SOLUTIONS

HELP US TRULY MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD OF DEMENTIA

Although our documentary shines the brightest spotlight on frontotemporal dementia, we’re not limiting this project’s scope strictly to FTD. Our understanding (and classification) of dementia as a whole has greatly evolved since this project first began over at Hollywood 27 Productions, and we need to move the goalposts accordingly.

That’s important because, as a big part of our mission here at Change the World Films, we’re not out to simply make a documentary — we’re here to effect real change and create true, long-term solutions. This means two things:

1. GREATLY RAISING AWARENESS OF FTD
We’ll be leveraging our skill sets, both as storytellers and marketers, to create a documentary seen by many, many more people than ever before. Raising awareness is crucial for frontotemporal dementia, as it’s one area that’s been severely lacking for decades.

2. BRIDGING GAPS IN THE CURRENT FTD LANDSCAPE + THE QUEST FOR A CURE
As a starting point to this process, we’re asking caregivers and people directly affected by a loved one with dementia to help us identify the biggest obstacles and problems facing them today, so we can help overcome these obstacles and create viable solutions to the problems at hand, while also helping in the quest for a cure if possible as well.

Of important note, we’re not trying to reinvent the wheel here. There are already some great organizations in place helping address many of the issues facing dementia caregivers and patients alike. At Change the World Films, in addition to our skill set in media and marketing, we bring a special set of analytical, research, and problem solving skills to the table, coupled with the power of being a very ethical nonprofit organization.

In other words, we’re here to build bridges. This means working with well-established entities to help close gaps, and it can also mean leveraging our nonprofit abilities to raise funds in new areas if needed.

The bottom line is, we’re here to make a difference, and we don’t shy away from challenges. So if you’re interested in helping, please click the link or the button below for Dementia: The Journey Ahead Facebook Page, where you can join the conversation and land a much larger impact with us.

That page is managed by Susan Scarff, author of DEMENTIA: THE JOURNEY AHEAD: A PRACTICAL GUIDE FOR IN-HOME CAREGIVERS and member of our Veritas Advisory Committee.

She wrote her book on caregiving after her husband was diagnosed with FTD, and has since worked tirelessly with her good friend Gabi in the UK to manage this Facebook Support page. It’s a wonderful resource for people across the globe dealing with the struggle of dementia caregiving.

As this process evolves, we’ll publish much more right here on this page, but for now, please visit the Facebook link and work with Susan and Gabi — they’re here to help us put this together and would love to hear from you!
